The Louis Vuitton data leak has exposed personal information of UK customers after hackers breached the company’s internal systems.
The incident occurred on July 2, 2025, targeting the British unit of the luxury brand.
Hackers accessed customer names, contact information, and purchase histories.
While no financial data was exposed, the breach still raises serious concerns about data security at luxury retailers.
Louis Vuitton informed affected customers via email.
The brand stated there is no evidence of misuse but warned of possible phishing or fraud attempts.
“Phishing attempts, fraud attempts, or unauthorized use of your information may occur,” the email read.
Investigation and official response
Following the Louis Vuitton data leak, the company launched a full investigation into the incident.
The retailer also notified the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and stated it is reinforcing its cybersecurity protocols.
In its communication, Louis Vuitton apologized to affected customers and provided tips to avoid falling victim to scams.
The company advised users to report suspicious messages and monitor their accounts closely.
So far, the brand has not revealed how many customers were affected.
Repeated breaches across LVMH brands
This is the third LVMH-related cyberattack in three months.
In June, Louis Vuitton Korea experienced a similar breach involving stolen customer data.
In May, Christian Dior Couture — also owned by LVMH — reported a separate attack affecting client contact records.
It remains unclear whether these incidents are connected.
Security analysts suggest that the breaches could stem from a coordinated campaign against LVMH-owned brands.
Luxury retailers under threat
The Louis Vuitton data leak is part of a broader trend of cyberattacks targeting high-end fashion houses.
As luxury brands invest more in digital services, attackers look for vulnerabilities in their infrastructure.
This leak highlights the growing need for stronger cybersecurity practices in the retail sector, especially in the luxury fashion world.
