Meta is developing the Meta Pocket app, a new AI-powered platform that allows users to create mini-games and interactive apps using simple text prompts.
Although Meta has not officially announced the app, Pocket has already appeared on the Google Play Store alongside support documentation explaining how the platform works.
Meta Pocket App Creates AI Mini-Games
According to the Play Store listing, the Pocket app lets users create, share, and discover “gizmos” with friends.
A gizmo is an AI-generated interactive experience built from a text prompt. It can take the form of a mini-game or a small interactive application.
Users simply tap the plus button, describe the game they want to create, and allow the AI to generate it.
Once finished, creations can be shared with others. Recipients do not need to install Pocket to play the generated experience.
AI Games Support Interactive Controls
The Meta app supports several ways to interact with AI-generated games.
Players can tap, swipe, drag objects across the screen, or shake their device to control movement. Some experiences also use music, sound effects, the camera, or the microphone.
The goal is to let anyone build interactive experiences without traditional programming skills.
Users Can Remix AI Creations
Pocket also includes built-in remixing features.
If creators enable remixing, other users can modify existing mini-games and publish their own versions.
Deleting an original project does not remove remixed versions that others have already created.
Users must sign in with their Meta account to access the platform.
Meta Builds on the Gizmo Acquisition
The Meta Pocket app closely resembles Gizmo, the AI gaming platform Meta acquired in February.
Gizmo allows users to create, share, and discover interactive AI experiences, making the connection between the two platforms clear.
The app has reportedly been downloaded around 635,000 times across Android and iOS. It remains available, although it is unclear whether Meta plans to replace it completely with Pocket.
Reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi first spotted the upcoming app. Shortly afterward, several technology news outlets reported on the discovery.
Meta has not yet officially announced Pocket or revealed when the app will launch.
